If your gardening experience currently extends to keeping a houseplant alive for more than a week, or you just want to know where food comes from beyond the grocery store, the San Diego Craft Collective is hosting one of their monthly organic garden workshops. Adults are welcome, and children aged 10 and up can join in on the fun too, provided they bring a grown-up who is prepared to get a little dirt under their fingernails. Instructor Mia Vaughnes will be on hand to unravel the mysteries of growing your own organic fruits, herbs, and vegetables, a process that apparently involves more than just good intentions.

They will also delve into topics like seed saving, the magical art of composting, and general planting techniques. Think less supermarket mystery and more fresh air, healthy homegrown snacks, and the quiet satisfaction of adding a bit of green to the planet, one plant at a time. It is a good chance to ditch the digital world for a bit and connect with something that actually grows.
